What do people say about you?

A while back I went to a small birthday party where I only knew the person who’s party it was. They happened to go to the school that one of my newer friends goes to. We were all talking about school and stuff when I made the connection that these people may know this kid that I met a few weeks ago. Here is how the conversation went:

Me: What are the chances you know a kid named  fill in name?

Other person #1: Oh ya, He is the nicest person ever.

Other person #2: He always has something nice and positive to say about everyone

Other Person #3: I love fill in name, he is so nice.

The kid who I had met and they all knew is now a good friend of mine for the same reasons that other person #1, #2 & #3 are, “he is always positive and have something nice to say about everyone.” He is one of the nicest and most positive guys that I know. But what I started to wonder is how do others describe me? I would like to challenge the view of “it doesn’t matter how other people view us.” Of course there will always be people against us, but I think that it is a good reference point for how we live out our faith and act around others.
